Shenzhen Display Manufacturing Hub Reports Record LED Export Volumes in 2024

Shenzhen, China's electronics manufacturing capital, reported record LED display export volumes in 2024. Major manufacturers including Leyard, Unilumin, and Absen expanded production capacity to meet growing global demand for commercial and DOOH applications.

Shenzhen's LED display manufacturing sector achieved record export volumes in 2024, according to data from the China Optical-Electronics Industry Association. The city, home to major manufacturers including Leyard, Unilumin, Absen, and ROE Visual, benefited from strong demand in North America, Europe, and emerging markets.

Product trends included fine-pitch LED for indoor applications, high-brightness cabinets for outdoor DOOH, and rental/staging displays for events. The sector invested heavily in automation and quality control, with many factories achieving ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications.

Export data shows: North America (32% of exports), Europe (28%), Asia-Pacific excluding China (22%), Middle East and Africa (11%), Latin America (7%). Total export value reached $8.2 billion in 2024, up 22% from 2023.

Industry analysts project continued growth as global DOOH advertising budgets increase. The Shenzhen government has designated the LED display sector as a strategic industry, providing tax incentives and R&D subsidies to support innovation in MicroLED and MiniLED technologies.
